Power Chords are popular in rock and metal music because they create a heavy sound from your guitar. A Power Chord is basically a ‘mini chord’ made of two notes in an interval of a fifth chord. As a result, Power Chords are also often known as Fifth Chords, and they’re the easiest and most popular guitar chords to play.
